Call for 2,000-miler Applications

#1
If you completed hiking the entire Appalachian Trail this year (whether as a thru-hike or a section-hike), the Appalachian Trail Conservancy encourages you to send in your 2,000-miler application soon.

The deadline to be included in the annual A.T. Journeys 2,000-miler listing (the March/April issue) is December 31. But the sooner you can get it in, the more that helps us (and the sooner you are likely to get your 2,000-miler certificate back).

There’s no deadline for submitting a 2,000-miler application, but if you don’t get your application in until next year, you’ll have to wait until 2015 to be listed, and your name won’t be printed with as many of your fellow hikers.

The application is online at www.appalachiantrail.org/ATcompletion.

Wouldn't it be fantastic/futuristic if this could be done online? I fear many of us are lazy when it comes to anything outside of hiking.

We did have an on-line application up for a few weeks this summer, but it had bugs and caused more problems than it solved. We're still working on an on-line form, but it's months away, at best.
