CALLAHANS burns to the ground

The famous Ashland stop is no more.

Yesterday, within an hour of my having a great Minestrone and Spag+meatsauce the place caught fire and burnt to the ground.

I heard this in Omars on SIskyou BLVD downtown later, figered some of you would want to know, as it was a great place and a friendly stop.

I am saddened to hear about the loss of such a wonderful, hiker-friendly place. We had a very relaxing overnight stop there last year when we hiked through. I really hope they rebuild.
