I am not sure of the website, but there is a pretty good book called “Walking Home” by a woman thru hiker. I will keep my eyes posted for the site, though.

There is a book by Beverly “Maine Rose” Hugo called Women and Thru hiking on the Appalachian Trail (Insight Publishing). I knew her and contributed to her book. It covers everything. I think it’s available thru ATC Conference bookstore. It’s a great resource. I’ve hiked the whole AT in sections.

Here is a statement of the group’s purpose:
"A list for women who love backpacking and hiking. Originally started as the Womens’ AT List we have expanded to include women hikers everywhere.
Many members are experienced long-distance hikers and emphasis is placed on helping members plan trips, including topics from gear to food drops to personal issues.
This is a growing group of very diverse women who welcome members who hike anywhere in the world regardless of age or experience."

Brawny has a women’s only area on her trailquest web site. You need a password to access it, and that may be hard to get until she and Rainmaker are back from their summer hiking adventure.
