I want to buy someone a camera for hiking, something super light but cool
I have a Fuji Finepix, it has 5.5 digital zoom
3X optical zoom 1 gig card and a 2 1/2 inch viewer
I think it is perfect for hiking and such
and it is super light.
Does anyone have a favorite camera?
And what is it??
(There are new ones out this year to drool over and I haven’t checked them out yet)

I just picked up a Panasonic FX-12 for 160$ on sale at Costco. I had been using a HP 4 megapixel which I was impressed with for the price 80.00 on ebay. I am happy though with the panasonic to have a larger lcd, a much better lens with zoom, and it jumps up to 7.1 mega which provides much crisper photos for manipulating (mostly blowing up at home). I took video this last weekend and it is excellent quality video and can be blown up to any size without becoming pixelated. I will definitely be shooting video regularly with it. it is small too and comes in at 5.1 oz with battery.
