Are there any spots along the colorado trail where campfires are permitted?

Just about everywhere in a normal year. Sometimes in dry times there are fire restrictions and they are not allowed. Also, special regulations may apply in certain locales. Make sure you use an established fire ring - don’t make new ones. There are plenty out there.

Do you ever carry a wood stove(bushbuddy, etc)?

Where you’ll most likely see fire restrictions is in the lower elevations (below 9,000’) in the Front Range (closer to Denver). Occasionally entire counties go on a total fire ban. It all depends on fuel moisture, relative humidity and wind for any given week, and it can change quickly.

How do you know if there is a ban put in effect when you’re on the trail??

Signs posted at trailheads and in campgrounds you’ll pass.

Also, common sense. If it’s so dry the grass is brittle, don’t start a fire.
