Are there any good campsites between elk park nc and Dennis Cove Rd, Tn. I’m looking to find a place about halfway between the two without staying at the shelters.
Are there any primitive sites along the way?

Lots of places to pitch a tent in that section other than the two shelters. Lots of water. There is even a rustic hostel just off the trail.
