Canister fuel is freely available and is not a problem to locate; as far as mailing, you might run into some problems, especially as regards new post-11 September regulations; it MAY be permissible to send this stuff via GROUND MAIL, but maybe not; best to check with your postmaster for a list of current regulations; I’m almost positive tho, that mailing this stuff via air mail is forbidden, and you could be subject to fine and prosecution if you do so.

We switched to butane with an MSR Superfly after my alcohol stove got ruined by a drifter. A small can lasted for just about twenty days with two people. Shawn got two months from the large one. This with a short breakfast and a long simmer for dinner and a few hot drinks. We like butane for the choice of being able to simmer our home made trial foods like chili and to be able to make fresh items like fajitas. Just to give those an idea of how many cans to count on when planning.
