For the weight I would use either cannister stoves or alcohol. I started with a whisperlite, but the thing was heavy. The cannister stoves seemed to heat super fast too.

Nokia:I had TWO Whisperlites, both caught on fire not long after I bought them.Do yourself a favor, get rid of them.I use a cannister stove [Snow Peak] when I’am kayaking, other wise, while hiking,I use a Pepsi stove.

Whisperlite is the best stove I have ever used, if there is a weight differnce between that and a Snow Peak, your talking about what? an oz. or so? and if they catch on fire, well hell boy, they is suppose to!!other wise your food will stay cold!!:lol
