My friend and I would like to hike the AT in Georgia and/ or southern North Carolina this April for seven days and then do a canoe trip for a couple of days. Does anyone know of a river close to the AT where this would be possible?

I can think of two places in North Carolina - the NOC and at Hot Springs. And a little further north at Erwin, Tn.

Hike around the Hot Springs area of the AT. You’ll be able to check out Max Patch and canoe the French Broad River. Then soak in the natural hot springs. Very cool area.
