I haven’t been through Caratunk in quite a while, heading south to Gorham from Abol Bridge in 10 days. I’m thinking of blowing by Monson (been there done that last year) and I know the Ferryman is gone and so is the Caratunk House, so where are good places to stay and resupply around Caratunk now?

I was just there also and know they allow hikers to stay in tent cabins for $8.00 but I am not sure about resupply as a friend met me there.

If your going to blow by a town, blow by Caratunk. Monson is a great town and a perfect spot for resupply. After Monson you can hit Stratton, then Rangeley, and then Andover for the home stretch.
I think he means he is leaving in ten days.

Northern Outdoors makes very, very good beer in the basement, and heaping natchos…check out their many forms of stay…and yes, Rangeley is very friendly…along with Stratton.
