CDT 2014 - Continental Divide Trail

Anyone hiking the CDT 2014? I completed the AT in 2010 and would love to do the CDT next. However I think it’s hazardous to attempt it alone. I will have support available along the way at various resupply points (no hitching). If I don’t get a couple of experienced (completed at least 1 long trail) thruhikers interested, I’ll switch to the PCT.

I found the PCT actually more dangerous than the CDt because of all the snow & river x-ings on the jmt part; that being said, it’s alot easier to find partners at gathering places before you get to (or at) Kennedy Meadows on the PCT; & on the CDt if you go southbound, the snow in Glacier Park in June & the blowdowns & river x-ings in the Bob wilderness (don’t forget bears) can be hellacious just like the jmt ! So I guess you are right to switch to the PCT if you don’t have a partner, just hope you meet a partner with a similar hiking style. Also, which trail you do depends on the snowpack & fires & etc…
