CDT Access - Montana

I live in California and I want to hike the portion of the CDT that is in Montana. I would like to access the trail in Glacier National Park and was wondering what the best way to access the trailhead is?

-Where to fly into?
-How to get from there to the trail head?

Thanks in advance

Fly to Kalispell, take a taxi to Whitefish and pick up Amtrak to East Glacier. In East Glacier you can pick up a shuttle to Chief Mountain TH or to Waterton. Or you can just walk from the train station to the trail and hike north. It used to be that the train arrived about an hour after the shuttle north left town, so you had to stay in town a day. You may be able to hitch but it can be very slow. Don’t forget, you need a permit from the NPS to backpack in Glacier.
