CDT in the Fall

Can someone give me an idea of the weather to expect on the trail in southern Colorado (Cumbress Pass-Crede) during the middle two weeks of September? Presume it’ll be typical fall weather. Much thanks!

Normally it is pretty good other then days getting shorter. You start running a chance of getting snow toward the end of the month. Otherwise very little traffic and quiet except for Elk hunters and the outfitters. Its blackpowder/bow Elk season, so they have to get close to shoot you…

Middle of September at high elevations in Colorado, you can expect the following - rain, sleet, snow, sun, hail, high wind (not necessarily in that order). On a day hike this weekend, I experienced 3 (maybe 4) of the six in a 1 hour period of time. Be prepared!
