CDT: SOBO or NOBO?

Do more people hike the CDT SOBO or NOBO?? What are the pros and cons? How would the start dates differ?

The last few years it has been fairly evenly split with about 25 each direction.

There is a long discussion of the advantages/disadvantages of each on our website at http://spiriteaglehome.com/cdt.html

The short version - northbound you start late April and have to deal with snow in southern Colorado in early June. Southbound you start in late June and have to deal with snow the first few weeks of your hike.

Both directions are good - but they are very different.
