How do equipment needs vary between the AT and the CDT?
I’m considering an Esbit stove for a CDT thru-hike. Good idea, or should go with an alcohol stove?

I was all set to go with Esbit and then changed to alcohol. As I see it, both weigh about the same with fuel and the esbit does have a bit of an unpleasant odor. But then, the tablets pack easier. I guess it’s just whatever appeals to you.
