Hi there!
Im planning a trip down the CDT in Colorado starting at either the Wyoming or North Lake Trailheads. Im driving my own vehicle and leabing it with a friend in Boulder. What would be the best way to get to either of the trailheads without the use of my own car?

I’m in the same boat. I was thinking about hitch hiking or pay a friend to drive me to the trailhead. Interested to hear any other ideas.

When are you all planning to hike this section? I too am considering a jaunt northbound through CO and WY this summer.

Steamboat Springs, CO (hitch to the trail at Rabbit Ears Pass) or Rawlins, WY to start–getting to the trail heads you mentioned would be pure magic.

West Yellowstone, MT then hitch up to Bozeman, MT to end–there is an airport shuttle according to google

I have done more research and have decided to hike northbound starting at Cumbres Pass. Just works best for me, and its a low snow year. I’ll be starting as soon as the snow is out and section hiking just CO. So my endpoint will be where the trail hits WY70 near Encampment. Should be interesting, I’m really excited! Never done a true through hike before, but I feel prepared/ready (but still know I have much to learn).
