Some of you may be interested in a thread at whiteblaze.net that has extensive info on Changes on the Trail for 2004 re. businesses/service providers, etc. Go to “Forums” section and look under “Trail Towns and Services”. Among other things, I just posted some information on Hanover changes for this year that some of you may find useful.

I noticed the trail is seven miles longer than in 2000? Is this correct, 04 data book has 2,174.1 miles. In 00 I think it was 2167. something miles. Must be all the RELOS

'04 Data Book mileage is correct; there were several relos, one of the largest being just before Kincora hostel; a former ho-hum section with many nasty little up-and-downs as well as a longish roadwalk passing legions of belligerent dogs has now been replaced by a beautiful new section that includes a couple of great waterfalls and a cool place to catch a swim/shower. This relo is thanx to the Tennessee Eastman Hiking Club, including Bob Peoples of Kincora. It has indeed added several miles to the Trail, and it’s well worth it.
