Climbing San Luis peak

#1

The CT guidebook says you can climb 14,014’ San Luis peak from the saddle at mile 8.8 of segment 20. Has anyone done this?
The book suggests leaving most of your gear at the saddle (12,612’) but I am wondering if you are risking getting your food stolen by animals while you are climbing the peak. Any info on this?
Thanks

There is always a chance, but at this altitude it would be limited to rodents. We had no problems leaving our packs a ways up from the saddle and out of site of people.
