Weather, I summited Clingmans end of Mar last year in a driving rain, and 35 MPH wind gusts nearly parrell to the trail portion. Clingmans building itself is a paved road to a circular walkway up to the pod shaped building at the summit point. Weather check it before going. Also, it was an uphil climb 2 miles from the last shelter on the trail. The portion you are climbing is not a challenge. Mt Love may be the only incline you encounter.
