Co 114/gunnison

does any one have any comments on the feasability of hitching into gunnison on this road? i’ve heard conflicting opinions about the amount of traffic on this road. i would prefer to carry 3 - 4 days of food out of salida to get to co 114 rather than 6 - 7 to get to lake city/creede.

quick replies would be oh so appreciated as i’ve only got another week or so to check emails in buena vista and salida.

There is not much around here, and it is a long way to town. Rocksteady and I carried a lot of food out of Mt. Princeton and met some friends near 114 and got a little extra food. I am sure if you have the patience you will be able to get a ride, but it is a long way.

I would head for Lake City, it is a pretty cool town, good beer specials and an small movie theater.
