My take-away was ‘don’t buy an uber ranchette in the ever expanding Colorado front range exurbs.’

FYI, we had a bear encounter while hiking the CT between Molas Creek and the Animas River, Segment 24, Mile 15.3. SJ Ron

A hiker who stopped at our camp yesterday had a bear encounter near the CT crossing and highway 50 west of Salida. Someone had left a pile of food on the trail including an opened jar of peanut butter. Unfortuntely, the hiker had chosen to camp nearby. The bear showed no hostility nor any fear of humans. APPLE

We saw very clear bear tracks on segment 19, but no actual sightings. This would have been 7/23.

Bears are everywhere in CO. There’s one taking a giant dump in my backyard right now. Why don’t you idiots find something interesting to talk about?

jryall - apparently you don’t have much going on either to hang out on web sites and crank on those who are out there enjoying CO. BTW we have had six bears in cul-de-sac this year. Just enjoy the experience.
