I never applied for one due to even out the score for all those who have without completing the trail. Thru hiking is for hikers…lists are for glory seekers.

Huh? Due to several missing words your concern is hard to understand. Also, what list? The medals seek to notice completion and not for “glory seekers”. I believe you might change your ideas with a bit more sound information.

I apologize. I was refering to all those who submit their names to the ATC’s list of thru-hikers (AT). I did not notice the PCT reference before my previous post. My sediments regarding either might be that the real prize is the time and memories spent on the trail…However, for those who like medals, prizes, lists or other accolades these might prove quite appealing. Anyone hiking from Mexico to Canada certainly deserves a medal…But what is one suppose to do with it?:boy

I imagine it’s nice to have as a memento to put on the wall as a reminder of the time you had.
My memento up on the wall is my pct bandana next to, thanks to Pickles, a picture of me flipping the bird at my backpack in the northern Sierra.
