Would it work to wear contacts on the AT. I normally just wear my glasses but I would love to be able to wear my contacts though. One poit to consider~ would the solution freeze at night? Also, if you dropped a contact and lost it it would be dangerous if not impossible to hike especially with rocks, roots, ect.
Thanks

The solution can freeze. Keep it in a ziplock bag inside your sleeping bag if the temp drops a lot at night. If you cant see rocks and ledges carry your glasses in a hard case so you will be prepared for contact loss or eye infections. Look into extended wear contacts. Some are safe to wear without taking out for long periods of time. You can even sleep in them.

I always carry an extra pair of extended wear contacts. That way if one get out (some like to dig under the fence at night) I have a backup.

I wear Focus Night and Day brand contacts. I put them in on the first of the month, I take tem out on the last day of the month and put in a new pair the next morning - NO solutions to have to carry!
These contacts are the best!
