Saw a lot of questions about snow conditions. This wont be as assured as firsthand reports, but it will give you a good idea

No need for snow shoes. I finished segment 10 today and am staying in twin lakes tonight. I used my snow shoes in segments 6 & 7 but wasn’t necessary. There were others behind me that made it through the snow just fine. However, there are spots that is hard to see the trail. I got lost twice but with my map and compas I navigated just fine.
