Since most hikers take lots of pictures and post them, I ran across a picture of the sign at Mt. Katahdin stating that Springer was 2155 miles away and another sign at Springer stating that Katahdin was 2108.5 miles…what is the actual hiking mileage?

It actually changes each year due to small relocations of the trail. Everyone will usually have a slightly different number depending on who you ask. Last year the generally accepted number was 2174.1 miles following the white blazes. good luck to your kid
