CORSAR card - The Colorado Trail

Should I get one of these for our upcoming CT hike? Seems to make sense for $3; I really like this idea, wish the Whites in NH would start a program like this. Obviously I don’t expect to be doing anything requiring a rescue, but no one ever does.

Get one to support the cause. You don’t need one for any reason. I don’t think that colorado has ever stuck a rescuee with a bill yet. But it’s definitely worthy!

I agree with Gravity Man. It’s probably not necessary, but it’s a good cause to support.

I seem to remember Colorado giving a rescuee a bill once or twice in the past. But only when the hiker does something really stupid and deserves the bill. If you don’t do anything stupid, you won’t NEED one. But I still think it’s a cool idea to have.

Supposedly, if you don’t have the card, you will be charged for a rescue.

BB: I got mine when I bought the map CD. BTW, the mao CD and the paper arrived yesterday. This CD is way different then my ADK CD and I only hope I can figure out how to work it enough to get us any descent maps!!:oh Sue/HH:girl

Thanks everyone. HH, you will, just ask Tha Wookie if you need some guidance, sounds like he had it down pat. Where did you end up finding paper? I’m working on mail drops and town stops, adding them to a spreadsheet the CTF had that I downloaded a while back and just found again.

I got the paper from the CTF. What and where is this spreadsheet? Guess it really doesn’t matter cuz if we are hiking as a “group” we will all basically be stopping together, and I guess you are the leader!!:nerd Not that the CT is all that flexible when it comes to stops. HH:girl

BB-
I am trying to get organized and planned, could you email me that spreadsheet so I can get everything together. You should write a book “hiking for space cadets”. I would dfeinitely buy it if I could remember the title when I am at the books store

that CO hiking certificate is a major league bargain. Let’s say you get montezuma’s revenge, and you have your dork phone in your pack, then you can get a helicopter ride to a toilet and clean underwear. Just kidding,a service not to be abused, but get one for me so I know nothing happens to you, and an epipen.
I did a race when I was out there and they used 1 dollar of your entry fee to get one. if you buy a CO fishing license 1 goes towards the same. not sure about hunting licenses…
