I just finished hiking on the AT and already I’m dreaming of the PCT. I haven’t done the number crunching yet, but I think I spent around $2,500. Any estimates on how much a complete PCT hike would cost?

Wow! Congratulations on your thruhike! I began following you back in January. Then I started my hike in March. Since I got off, I read lots of journals, especially yours. Best wishes on that next hike!

The cost should be fairly comparable. You don’t stop in town as often as on the AT, but when you do it is more expensive. There are some trail angels in southern CA, but the rest of the trail you are mostly staying at motels and unless you start with the herd at the ADZPCTKO you may not be around enough people to share rooms as often.
