CT in August planning

I could really use some help with planning my Colorado Trail hike this Aug. My father and I will be heading out on Aug 2nd. We are flying into Denver and wanted to start at Section ten. With 3-4 weeks of hiking I hope to make it to Silverton. We aren’t in good shape at all. I thru-hiked to AT in 2002, so I feel confident about my backcountry ability. There are some specific questions I need answered about where mail drops are absolutely neccessary and how I might score an affordable ride from Denver to Sec 10. My email is darrick22@hotmail.com if anyone would like to help. It seems as though email would work the best for speedy responses. Thanks a ton, LPasso

Mags put together a very good guide that should answer a lot of your questions. As far as getting to the trail you want to get to, contact the colorado trail association (www.coloradotrail.org), and they should put you in touch with a shuttle driver…

Mags, wow, good to hear from you. Now go pack those drop boxes! You don’t have time to mess around here

I leave in 13 days. But who is counting?

My TO DO list it thankfully (almost) done. Just a matter of “hurry up and wait”.

Woo hoo!
