We want to do some of the CT on Sat 10/23. Either seg 14, 15, 6. I’m looking to connect w/someone who may have been on these segments recently or knows snow status at 11-12,000 ft and rd conditions into Marshall pass. Wondering if there is snow on the trail–if so how much, should we be able to find our way thru? For Seg 15 can we drive up to Marshall Pass. We have 4wh dr, Nissan xterra, wondering if snow would prevent us from driving to Marshall pass. Might also consider Seg 14, but thats 20, probably too long a day with the short light. (we have day hiked other 20 mi seg in Sept). Also may consider seg 6 Goldhill back east about 12 mi–to NFork of Swan (?) creek. (We’ve done the rest of the segment to Kenosha.)

I only got 112 mi left, next year want to finish. We’ve done it all in day trips, sometimes supported w/ friends moving our camp, picking us up, etc. I have to finish 16-20–looking for suggestions of how we could do it in one push, w/friends moving our camp, picking us up as needed. Could we set a camp at junction of 17 & 19, or ?? what is best logistically. What segments are easiest to connect together from a driving perspective.

I would like to talk w/anyone who knows the area. please email me directly lindajagger@yahoo.com. I do not often get on the web site.

Ranger District offices might help. On CTF website, ColoradoTrail.org , you can find phone numbers etc. for each. Trip Planning > Trail Resources by Segment. Being local to nearby CT Segments, they’re pretty good with info for snow and Forest Road conditions, etc.
