We had record snowfall in the mountains here in CO this past winter. I live just south of Denver and from here I can see the mountains are still quite white on top. I’m planning a section hike from Breckenridge to Buena Vista in mid-July with the hope that the snow is gone by then.

With the CT at only 500 miles or so, it’s at most a 6 week hike and possibly as little as 4 weeks if you can get 20 miles per day. So even if you don’t start until July 1 you could be done by August 15 which should give you very little snow to deal with at higher elevations.

Going up to Kenosha Pass today for a hike. Will report on snow conditions around there. The Denver Post ran an article this morning on potential flooding issues from the heavy snows. La Nina presented us with incredible mountain snows this winter, but we had very little here in the metro area. FWIW.
