Does anyone know what month the new AT Databooks or ALDHA’s Companion’s are published?
Any preference?

Usually the databook comes out first. I think this year the 08 databook came out around February or March…whereas the companion came out about a month or two later.
I bought both for my 07 thru-hike and sent the databook home in Georgia. I just wasn’t using it. Everyone has their own preferences (ie wingfoot, appalachianpages, ATC companion, etc), but I thought the ATC companion was the all-in-one perfect guide book. It tells you where everything is at every mile on the trail. the 07 book had only 1 or 2 errors that I remember. I carried the ATC maps as well, but as far as a guidebook, you can’t go wrong with the companion.
