I remember him, he left us some water at a rusty well pump…somewhere. Better than the red mud out of the well.

Ate those Lemon Sandwhich cookies and drank his water. Never met him though. We just found the magic in a bear box at one of the shelters.

I’ve met him a few times. A big old loveable bear of a guy. He has done more trail work miles than most hikers have walked. He has been passing out water and cookies for many years, saved my thirsty throat more than once.

I would like to chime in giving Desperado a big thanks for all his work for and on the trail. We pulled in to the shelter one night, while in NJ, and found some of his lemon cookies in a bear box, man that was just the best treat a couple of worn out hiker could experience. I never got to meet him but it is evident he has a great amount of respect and concern for hikers.

I’m STILL on a lemon cookie bender, a year later. I was able to thank him in person last October when he came cruising through Shaw’s in Monson. Thanks Desperado and all the other T/As for all they did (and do) last summer during the drought. :happy

I met Desperado on the trail last year, a few times at that. He is a great guy from what I can tell. The first night I met him he had brought Pizza and all sorts of goodies to a shelter in Jersey. His magic was seen non-stop for about a week as we hiked through the area. I’d venture to say that he put just as much effort into trail magic as I did hiking… possibly more! Thanks Desperado, L-Passo GAME 2002

Desperado left tons of trail magic for us this year on the trail. Much appreciated!
