I plan on hiking from Dickey Gap to Damascus in a couple of weeks. I know it’s going to be chilly, but has any one hiked this area recently? Good water sources? How are the shelters? Thanks

Hiked this area in May. Plenty of good water sources and lots of campsites. Grayson Highlands are one of my favorite hikes, Excellent water just before Wise Shelter, Elk Garden, and where Creeper Trail meets A.T.

If you’ve never been in the highlands you are in for a treat, my first time there I truly felt like I was in different country, its amazing, take it slow enough to look around, have a good one
