FYI, the drought in Wrightwood, CA, has made it necessary to truck water in to supply the town. The local water company will drill a new well this summer in hopes of increasing available supplies.
Did too many thruhikers drink the place dry this year?
More likely, there was too little snow this year, and too rapid a meltoff, which washed the water downstream instead of allowing it to percolate into local aquifers.
