Some friends and I are looking to hike from Segment 25 (Molas Pass) to Durango. However, we’ll be flying into Durango and need to get ourselves to Silverton/Molas Pass. The train is expensive and the schedule is far from ideal. Any suggestions for getting from Durango to Molas Pass via any other kinds of transportation? Thanks in advance!

In 2010 we used Hermosa Tours to shuttle us up to Molas Pass from the trailhead at Durango. They’re in the mountain bike touring business but were happy to help us. It cost about $50 each.

When you planning on doing this hike? My group is doing the same leg to complete our section hike of the CT this year. It’ll round out a six year effort.

Thanks for posting about Hermosa Tours for a shuttle. I contacted them and they have a reasonable charge. I was just researching the train also and found that it would not work very well. Thanks for the help!
