any other april fools starting a nobo?

Was this intended for the PCT forum? If so, early April is likely to be too early, unless you really love snow travel.

Yes, it was. And yes, I know about the snow. That’s why I said april fools. But its a schedule thing. And a heat thing. I hate the heat. Snow melts very fast in socal so I’m hoping it wont be as bad as everyone predicts. Plus I’d like to flip in mid may and head south. At worst, others will benefit from my hardship.

I’ll be taking a friend to Springer on April 1st to start his hike. I wish I was going but time is not permitting this year.

I’ll be starting from Campo on April 16th, but only going to Idylwild. I’m heading out on this “week long” hike to shake off my recent deployment to Iraq. I’ll be home on the 7th(hopefully), sit through a few “readjustment” classes, then my leave/hike begins. I hope to see some folks out there. I’m looking forward to my lightweight civilian gear with some color for a change! I’ve been dreaming of this hike for the past 7 months. I hope to have a good time and finally meet some of the nice folks from the Western hikin’ community. (I’m and East Coast guy, so this desert’s going to be a fun time for me - no worse than Iraq I suppose )

We already have plane tickets and so we will be on the trail in campo on April 15 no matter what the snow is doing. However, we do plan to plan to stay a week ( or whatever is needed) with family once near Palm Springs. So, I will see you out there Crazy Legs.
