You can forget about sending your box there. Why not just resupply at the store they have everything you need right there. If you need fuel there’s boats there so they have to sell unleaded. Otherwise for HEET users you can ask all the tourists with rigs overloaded with ATV’s boats and dirtbikes for a few ounces. I resupplyed here for the last three days of my TRT hike. For my PCT hike last year we hitched into Meyers , 8 miles down US 50 toward South Lake. Great spot to hitch .5 miles East of the US50 crossing just were the PCT starts heading South again near the Snow Park entrance. Hydro Heidi and I hitched when we got to US50 at 5:30 PM with South Lake on our agenda, but our ride said he would drop us at the full service large grocery in Meyers instead, and it was awesome. It’s the first thing you get to and South Lake is just a huge overcrowded dump any way IMHO. we were back to the Trail by 6:30 Pm with Food all the way to our next resupply in Sierra city.
They did let people pick up their boxes early when I was just there 6-23-08 at the Echo lake resort, but got the feeling that this was not the norm. Oh the Post office and the store are in the same building and run by the same company at Echo Lake.
