Has anyone tried out the Eddie Bauer Karakoram 20 degree down sleeping bag? Always been a fan of Eddie Bauer and thinking about getting this for an AT thru hike. What do you think? Will it be sturdy enough? And can I use some sort of seam sealer to reinforce seams so feathers and down doesn't leak out? Thanks!

I looked at it until I saw the price. By the numbers, 20 degrees, 2.2 lbs, 350 dollars. For that much money and weight it should be very durable with no need for reinforcing. If you can afford this bag I think you will be happy with it.

Yeah, I'm deciding that the sleep system is the one place that I don't want to skimp on. Most of my other gear I've bought off Craigslist and REI garage sales, barely used of course. But a sleeping bag is a little different. Since I've been able to save so much on other gear, I've decided to splurge on this piece. And I've always liked Eddie Bauer as a company.
