Can anyone recommend a device for keeping and posting an electronic journal? Thanks
Bill
Stumpknocker this year is using the LG eV2 phone. It has a querky keyboard for texting and has a 2 MP camera for taking photos. With data reception almost everywhere along the trail he posts his journal almost daily. It’s like real time reporting. What happened yesterday is on his journal today with photos. The LG eV2 weighs 4.68 oz while a Pocket Mail composer and cell phone runs around 11 oz. A no brainer!

thanks ned and crawl…(hey, crawl…did you just sign our guest book?..good to hear from you!..God bless you on your upcoming hike!)…
paw-ee and i have also enjoyed stumpknocker’s DILIGENT journal posting and pics of the AT…we were wondering about RECEPTION, however, on the PCT with a device like the LGeV2 (as we plan on being out there next year!..Lord willin’!) …the LG eV2 definitely seems like the way to go (of course, stumpy makes everything look easy…even ‘leaf-catching’! :^) he’s not ‘cheating’ is he?)…maybe he actually has a camera/documentary crew secretly traveling with him?
maw-ee
Thanks for the responces.
Brian "gadget"Lewis uses a Glofish 700

These seem to be good devices but thet are pricey heavy or both. The Glofish is $500, the Asus weighs 2 lbs and the LG is pushing $300 or more.
At least with the Glofish you can attach a QWERTY the LG has no such capability.

On how serious you are about updates, quality, etc, I hope to handle the 2 lbs for use of a full function wifi mini laptop, guess were back to personal use and pref…
And Maw-ee, I did sign it! Thanks for the well wishes!

Well
I did go to the computer store today and looked at the Asus and an “Acer.” Apparently the Asus use Linux OS and the Acer uses Windows which might make the Acer a little easier to use. Both were in the $350 range
