Elegant JMT Elevation Profiles

Trail elevation profiles are elegantly displayed for the whole trail south to north at Bruce and Ross Parker’s Web site JMT Trail Elevation Profiles The Hiking Parkers break down their 2005 trip into 16 day segments, showing the elevation profile for each day and the mapped portion of the trail. A visit to this site is a must for gaining some appreciation of the arduous up and down journey riding the Dragon’s back. The Parkers also show some links that may have escaped a hiker’s notice. Finally, a daily summary is posted along with a link to their gear spreadsheet. A tip of the sombrero and a politically correct “atta-person” goes to the hiking Parkers for this tremendously helpful site.

Clark,

Nice find, those pictures, website and profiles! I’m looking at possibly doing the JMT in about 24 months from now, so their website is a great resource.

Some ofthose pictures are just absolutely divine! Almost heartbreaking!
