Esbit stove on CT when fires restricted

Am planning to do the CT this summer and anticipate fire restrictions which will require use of chemical stoves only. To be able to meet the restrictions, would like to use an ultralight and inexpensive Esbit cube chemical stove where the chemical cube can be blown out to turn off the stove. Am told that there may be a USFS regulation where only chemical stoves with a manual shut-off valve can be used in the event of a fire restriction requiring the use of chemical stoves. Does anyone know if such a restriction is likely on the CT such that I could not use an Esbit chemical stove in the event of fire restrictions requiring use of chemical stoves?

ESBITs and most alcohol stoves might be banned for most of the summer. This is not a new ban. How many hikers have been cited for using an illegal stove?

I do not advise it, but during fire bans I carry my alcohol in an MSR fule bottle.

My group hiked through a fire ban last year just north of Molas Pass; almost made us reschedule our trip. As it turns out this was the high point of the trail and we were above timberline for several days; couldn’t have had a camp fire even without the ban (not to mention the rain : tongue).

I can’t think that you’d get a second glance using an Esbit or alcohol stove in a fire ban area. Not talking legality, just reality. I wouldn’t hesitate to use my alcohol stove during a fire ban.

If I see you using one I will report it. Hopefully you will then go to jail. Colorado doesn’t need jerks with your attitude,
