NO…this is not a place for the follically impaired! Just wondering if any of my TJ pals have been to this wonderful place…I’m going there next month.I went for just 2 days once; & am going for a week this time through. (I’m turning 50, & my best friends & I are going as a birthday present…what great friends, eh?) Hey Leah, I have been to BHI twice and just got married there two months ago. It is an incredible place to just relax. When the tide is at its lowest you can walk way out into the ocean through the shoals. As the tide goes out new sandbars appear that you can walk to as well as tidepools filled with all sorts of fun stuff. Kayaking the marsh is extremely fun as is biking around the island. Other then that, I just enjoyed the feeling of being totally isolated, having no cars around, and being compltely relaxed! Enjoy!

Christian: 1st off: congratulations on your marriage! Where did you hold your ceremony? The beach or the club/resort, or somewhere else? Second; thanks for the ideas; walking out into the ocean via the shoals sounds lovely. When we were there before, it was for only a long wkend; so we just started to figure out where things were when we had to leave. This time thru we’re there for a full week…the silence & the wind & waves sound wonderful. The place we’re staying at is apparently just being built & was supposed to open up June 1. I think it’s by the marsh; (ocean front costs almost 2x as much!) Kayaking sounds fun. I’ll look for the ocean life in the low tide tidepools too. I’ve always been fascinated by that phenomenon, & living in the midwest; …well we don’t have a lot of ocean tidepools! Thanks for your thots! I’m counting down the days!
