Hello All CO Sisters,

I am a 29 year old professional seeking a like minded hiking partner to adventure on the CO Trail in the summer of 2010. Hiking the CO Trail is a life dream for me and I can actually get the time off work to make it happen this summer!!! Now all I need is the right hiking partner…all my closest ladies are otherwise occupied and my partner Jerome can’t make the trip since he will be completing his last semester of college.

Anyone else deeply called to the trail?

I would love to hear from you!

I am also looking for a hiking buddy for the CT this summer. I plan to leave early July and take about 5 weeks to finish. I am 23 years old, and plan to quit my job at a tv station to thru hike this summer. Let me know if you are still looking and we can talk! Thanks.

Dear Elizabeth Jean Shephard,

I too am interested in hiking this summer. Maybe I could join you? I back packed the Northville Lake Placid Trail last summer. It is a 120 mile trail. Thank you for your interest.

Sincerely,

Kim, Millbrook, NY

Kirk,

Thanks for the reply. I actually would like to back pack anything this summer. How long do you plan to be out? Would you mind company? Or is is a solo trek that you would prefer?

Hi Kim,

I orginally planned to hike the whole FLT last summer, but things came up in August and I cut the trip in half. So I plan to finish the other half this year. I was planning to start May 23 and hike until June 20. Then I’m suppose to go to Yosemite with some friends. So if that happens, I’ll hit the trail again July 10 and hike until July 26 or so. I think its about 6 1/2 weeks total… If I dont end up going to CA, I probably wont break up the hike and no I dont mind company at all. It would actually be nice to hike with another person. It’s usually just me and the dogs…I have journals for both of these hikes on this wesbite… Let me know what you think…

Hi, I am also planning a CT thru-hike for this summer and am looking for a hiking partner or partners. I am planning on a July 1 start or possibly a couple days earlier, but if I could join a hiking partner or group I can definitely be flexible. Please email me if interested.

For anyone considering a thru-hike, section-hike or weekend hike of the Northville Placid Trail there is a very informative website for the NPT - www.nptrail.org. There is a latest trail conditions page and a hike planning page as well as community resources and a way for NPT hikers to report trail conditions online.
