Few Day Stint - The Long Trail - Vermont

Hey Folks,

I’m new to VT and to trail hiking, although I’ve done quite a number of day hikes. Around the end of August, a friend or two and I are hoping to get on for a few days maybe 2 or 3 nights. Right now I’m looking at going straight through on Div 8 from Cooley Glen to Birch Glen. What do you think?

We have a small tent, stove, and basic equipment. Is there any specific thing we need, or info we need to know about?

Any tips or advice would be much appreciated.

-Thanks

Try to narrow your question down to something more specific. For example, what is your “basic equipment”? How much fuel do you intend to carry? What specically do you want to know?

it’ll really tie the whole shelter together… a night atop one of the peaks in that section would be cool if we get the weather. Be kind to alpine plants. Be ready to carry water up onto the ridgeline. Does “basic equipment” have the makings for a White Russian?
