Finance/Budgeting a Thru-Hike

Lets talk money. This seems to be a topic many avoid.
Lately I noticed Wingfoot is still promoting a dollar a mile for the cost of a Thru-Hike albeit a Spartan Approach. I feel that over the years the cost has risen considering annual inflation. We are budgeting 2 dollars amile for each of us. Not including the cost of gear, maintaining our home while were away and Post thru-hike expensives till we get back on our feet. Anyone have any other views?

i was spending about 20 dollars on food every 4-5 days resupply…

do you plan on a zero town day each week in a motel? eating out etc?

cost will vary greatly depending on how you want to hike.
