A 67-year-old Slatington man died this morning at his home in the 700 block of Main Street, Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim reports. Deputy Coroner Richard Kroon pronounced Ira M. Fine dead at 3:25 a.m. The cause and manner of Fine's death are pending the result of toxicology tests, a news release says.

He was a friend to all Appalachian Trail hikers, listed in the hiker handbooks, and a fellow shuttler, he will be missed.
