Finished! - Arizona Trail

I’ve been section-hiking (mostly solo) since Feb. 08 and yesterday I completed my last passage from Tiger Mine to American Flag. The end was bittersweet, as I have had such an amazing time exploring the Arizona Trail. It was rugged, challenging, and extremely rewarding. I have been hiking to raise awareness for Fibromyalgia, a chronic pain condition that I have had for 11 years. I was pleased to be able to finish the trail yesterday on Fibromyalgia Awareness Day. My website has lots of pictures and videos of the Arizona Trail- www.aztrail4fms.org

Congrats, Sirena!!! Awesome…and I know that it wasn’t easy. What an adventure to look back on. You’ll be realizing and reexamining all the aspects for the rest of your life.

What a great day for you to finish on. I always admire folks who stay with a hike for a cause as often times they start out with the best on intentions and are unable to finish. You should be very proud of what you did…

Walking by oneself can be a lonely and challenging journey, regardless of its purpose.
Congratulations, Sirena

Hey wow, the trolls have arrived in sunny Arizona. Try to catch some vitamin D while you’re here; it’s been shown to improve all sorts of mental disorders.

Good for you Sirena
Maybe it was just an language break down. But fibromyalgia is not a “mental disorder” .Just because there is not complete understanding of how it manifests does not mean that the pain is not caused specific physical indicators.
I only got to meet one other hiker out there and we spent so little time together but I tried to follow each and everyone of you on the web site.

Don’t feed the troll. Instead, fault Leif and Zipdrive (“moderators”) for allowing this kind of spam to fester on what’s essentially a broken forum. They are absolutely liable for the kinds of character defamation that go on around here, and that drive away the hiking community.

The vitamin D comment was directed at the troll, whose original post was apparently removed, thus Marmot’s confusion.
