Tumblina. I’m so late in replying I figured to start a thread rather than hijack someone else thread. I suppose I was so busy or so traumatized by not being bale to backpack more than a few days at a time this summer that I’ve mostly stayed away from this forum.

Anyhow, thanks for the background. I probably met Fish since I was going Southbound but I don’t remember, but you and Kapi, Packrat and Fourmi stuck in my mind because you were the first people I met on my first full day on the trail and I had fun reading your stories backwards.

Its great that you met someone on the trail and that you knew in a brief time that he was worth going back for. What a nice story!

There is indeed a cushion of good will that makes hitching better at the trail. I hitched all the way back from North Adams to Boston after I finished that LT thru-hike and I got a pretty dramatic picture of how things change as you move from the trail head. I came close to hanging my Hammock for the night on Route 2 in the middle of nowhere.
