Anyone know the name or the route of the trail that goes South from Springer to hit FL?

Looking for routes and maps for a short warm up walk till I start the FL Trail

…don’t quote me, but i think you take the benton mackaye off of springer and follow it to the pinhoti…from there, i dunno…i think it may be lots of road walking???

German Tourist’s review of Fla trail found some of it under water; some of it along a steep banked canal with no access to water; some of it thru military bases with live fire exercises going on (don’t go thru w/o permission); some thru forest that was on fire at the time (find alt route); some urban roadwalk, rural roadwalk, lakeside walk, riverside walk, seaside walk… sometimes lots of hiker helper angels; sometimes lots of gators & snakes.
Sounds like an adventure! Hoorah for hiker boot camp!!!

I think Maw-ee is correct. I have read a couple of journals by folks who have hiked from FLA to ME and that seems to be the route. I don’t understand how you get from the Florida Train to the Pinhoti Trail though. Maybe that is just a long road walk.

Check out Lil Buddha who is hiking on the Eastern Continental Trail this year. He started out on Key West this January and is on Newfoundland now. His trail journals link is www.trailjournals.com/lilbuddha
