I just hiked the loop around Flagstaff yesterday/ today, and the closed section of the Arizona Trail is open. Schultz pass rd is open on both sides of the pass too. There wasn’t a lot of burnt areas on the closed stretch, just a lot of water damage from the bare slopes above. Got cleaned up nicely, and I have to say that the Equestrian Bypass is a lot prettier then the resupply route. There are two gas stations .1 west on hwy 89 at the crossing to get water, a mile further west is a safeway grocery store and Best Buy. There is a bus that goes about .3 west of the AZT and hwy 89 into downtown flag too. Tons of bus routes to get to outfitters or what not. http://www.mountainline.az.gov/mlt_Map.htm
In other words I had a great overnight on the AZT!
